When i click on the explorer icon I now get a page of
advertisements that i don't recognize. How do i get my
Sympatico home page back...PLEASE HELP

advertisements that i don't recognize. How do i get my
Sympatico home page back...PLEASE HELP

Download Spybot or Ad-aware and get rid of the adware/spyware that you
invited to install on your system.

You can simply re-set the home page, but that won't clean up the
infestation.

Ad-aware is at http://www.lavasoftusa.com and don't forget to download
the latest def's too, and pay attention to the recommendations when it runs!

Also make sure you are running UP-TO-DATE anti-virus software, as it
sounds like you have not paid adequate attention to "safe computing"
practises and are ripe for hijacking with any ol' trojan or worm or
virus that happens by.

You can get your homepage back by opening your browser,
go to 'tools', then click 'Internet options', you can
find there that you can set your homepage by typing in
what page you wish and then click apply. Your homepage
should now be set.

open internet explorer, go to "tools" then click on "internet options..."
then in the home page section where it says address, enter the address of
the page you wish to open on the start up of internet explorer.
