Lost icons in notification box

I just uninstalled two programs and now the notification box at the right end
of the task bar does not show some of the usual icons. The speaker volume
control icon is gone even though I subsequently went to the "Sounds and Audio
Devices" application in the control box and checked for the icon to be shown.
Also, the Webroot Spysweeper icon does not show anymore even if the software
is running. Other icons such as Zone alarm and Outlook do show. Is there a
way to get the lost icons back?

Try this:
R-click an empty space on the task bar.
Click Properties.
Click Customize.
Look to see if any of the missing icons are under Current Items or Past
Items. If so, click on it and select a different option from the drop down
box under Behavior. You may also try clicking the Restore Defaults button.

See if disabling the SSDP Discovery Service and Universal Plug and Play
Device Host service help. For more information, check the following
