Lost DLL file

I've lost, according to Windows XP my "MSVCP80.DLL" file and it is effecting
other programs. When I checked C:\Windows\system32 folder it shows the DLL
file there. I have run "regsvr32 msvcp80.dll" but get a message FAILED .

I would appreciate any and all help.

Do you have Windows defender installed on your machine?.
If the answer yes then try to uninstall the defender then see if the error
will occur, if not then try to install the new release of windows defender
from here:

= If you don't have Defender and you have Net Framework uninstall it then
reinstall it.
