Losing messages...

This is the fourth time now I've come to this NG in Outlook Express (only
this NG - for some reason, never any others) and found all messages, watched
or not, completely deleted. This is frustrating as I typically keep
messages watched for long periods in case I need to refer to them for myself
or for the benefit of others. Any ideas at all with this limited amount of
information (unfortunately I cannot provide more) why my messages might be
getting deleted?

You might do better actually posting in an OE newsgroup, but a couple of
suggestions spring to mind. Are you using the MS news server to
subscribe to this NG or your ISP's? Some ISP's "age" the posts rather
quickly and do not have long retention times.
There is also a "watched message bug" :-

OE6 newsgroup :-

Create a sub folder under your local folders called "save", "helpful hints"
or any other name. Copy any newsgroup message you want to save to that
folder.

I'm using microsoft.public.windowsxp.general with news.microsoft.com as my
nntp. I'll try posting out on the oe NG and see if they have any clues.
Thanks.

Aye, that would circumvent the symptom, but not correct the problem. Any
ideas on what could be done to avoid messages being erroneously deleted
altogether?
