losing connection when swopping from Outlook to Explorer

I can be connected to the internet but when I open internet explorer I lose
my connection and have to re-dial. Does anyone have any suggestions please?

There is some choice confilct for the connection IE is set to use.

IE, tools , options, Connection tab, dialup "Settings" button, see checkboxes

Mark, Thank you for your suggestions. I've changed settings and I'll monitor
