no, but xp shows the modem installed, and that should mean the drivers
are present, right ?
and further if you have read my problem, there i have said that it
shows me in system tray that my dial up connetion is connected, how
that would be the possible without modem drivers. please correct me if
i am wrong any where.

There is a little more to just opening a connection to the phone and
accessing the internet. The system tray is showing that the PC is connected
to the phone, but not necessarily that the phone has connected to the
internet. Exactly how this is achieved depends on the model chosen by the
phone manufacturer. Generally, the phone itself stores a profile (actually
these days they can store several profiles), that specifies the access
point, username, password and a few other parameters. When the PC attempts
to 'dial' a connection it does so using a phone number that is actually a
code telling the phone to connect using GPRS (usually in the form '*99*#')..
The phone still needs to be told which profile to use and how this done
varies between phone makers. ISTR that Nokia use an initialisation string
(it used to be of the form 'AT+CGDCONT=,,' when Nokia only supported a
single profile). However, other makers incorporate this into the phone
number and Nokia may have followed suit.
The Nokia website used to have a number of 'HowTo' guides on many aspects of
getting their phones to work with various bits of kit. It may be worth

I want to clear one point that when i am saying system tray shows
connected "it show that the dial up connection's status is connceted"
and it connects only when i right click on the conncetion icon in
"network connection" and select conncet. then it dials the number *99#
(given by my service provider Airtel) and then it says connceted. and
the system tray indication i am talking here is besides the indication
of mobile to pc connection. So i get two notification in system tray.
first when i conncet mobile to pc and the second only when i choose to
connect the network conncetion from "control pannel\network
connections" .
Further I saw the log of this conncetion and i can see "'AT
+CGDCONT="Mobile Office"' in it. At one line it also shows "Error-
control off or unknown."
One more point is I can open websites in my mobile, and hence i
suppose the so called profile setting and access point settings are
correct in the mobile phone. but still i am not able to open the same
websites in my explorer in my pc after connceting to my mobile, I
pasting the log file if somebody can help me after seeing it.
