Losing Ability to Login to Domain Controller

Hi, I have a two domain controllers. If something happens (like a
power outage, storm, etc.) and the root server and the domain
controller go down, when they return, the root server domain controller
will work fine, but the other domain controller never finds the root.
What I mean by this is that they machine will restart but when it comes
up I cannot login because it will never show the "domain" in the bottom
part of the login screen.

I do not know why it will not connect to the domain. Finally, after I
reboot about ten times it will come back. Also, sometimes when I
unplug the network and then boot and the restart and then plug the
lines back in it will connect to the AD. Confusing I know.

At a minimum, is there any way to get it so that I can login the
machine even if the domain is not present? There were no local
accounts to change the password for since the machine is on the AD.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Try to look in your event logs. I guess you will have a lot of
errors/warnings in there. Try to sort them out and post them here if you
want further help.

Probably you may have incorrect DNS server setup.

The computer was rebuilding its drives. I had to wait until they
completed. It was booting into a "pristine" version of the operating
system until all was well, at which time it would go to the configured
one.
