Deleted domain controller

Hello,

I was planing on restoring an exchange server which was also
serving as a domain controller to new hardware , and so I deleted the
domain controller object from the primary domain controller.

now I am keeping the same exchange server which still has the AD
information on it because it has not been replicating how can I
restore the object on the primary domain controller?

tool but very effective one)

That's a very difficult task. Most of Exchange's identifiying attributes in
AD will be based on the server name it was installed on and almost
impossible to change over. I would suggest to try to recover the old DC and
once up, install an additional Exchange server on a different machine, then
move all the mailboxes over to it, and follow the other steps in the
following article:

822450 - How to Remove the Last Exchange Server 5.5 Computer from an
Exchange Server 2003 Administrative Group (Look at Step 4 about how to view
the System Folders and how to replicate them and remove the original
instances):

Thanks for the replies, I got it back running I used ntdsutil to clear
the meta data from the working DC then I demoted exchange from a DC
and the repromoted it with the same name and everything worked
