Long pause before loading Network on Startup

Ran Bootlog to determine why Vista boots quickly to
Windows icon and then the Desktop, but the network may
take an extra minute or two to load.

System is an ASUS A8N SLI premium. NVIDIA4
The NTBTLOG.txt has literally hundreds of entries for
netrasa.inf and AFD.SYS failures to load.
I connect to the Internet via a Linksys router connected
to a Cable Modem. The router is the DHCP server.

The system eventually boots and runs fine.
I've tried to disable the nvidia network driver and boot
from a Wireless Linksys PCI card, but network loading
remains slow

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Bootlog obviously not helpful in this regard.
The Internet is repleat with reports of USB devices
loading slowly under Vista. I unplugged my USB card
reader and the sytem boots at least 1 minute faster.
So all our "OLD" hardware..IE 1 year old card reader is
now ancient history I guess. Will have to look for Vista
Compatable on everything in the future.
