Logon Screen problem

Good evening:

Before I installed sp2 the Welcome Screen had my name and to enter to the
desktop I clicked on it; in the lower left side it had a link to turn off
the computer. But now the screen only says Welcome and enter the desktop
right away. Could you help me with it?

Regards

1. Go to Start->Run
2. Type control userpasswords2
3. Check Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer

I'm having a similar problem. One day everything was
working fine. Next day i turned on the computer it didn't
start up properly. Using last known good configuration
something changed in the registry and the welcome screen
didn't have the user names listed anymore. Pressing
control-alt-delete twice in succession brings up the
hidden user names but it still won't let me logon.
Message says to check user name, domain and password. Is
there some way to work around this

Hello!

I did what it said on your post and the "Users must enter a user name and
password" is checked but it still opens my account automatically without
letting me choose from the welcome screen.
I only get the welcome screen if I change the settings and set a password to
my account. That's not how it should work, though. The problem is it should
show me the welcome screen even if I was the only user and didn't have a
password.
My problem appeared before installing SP2, I had to reinstall XP to my
computer and in the beginning it worked just fine but after some updates it
stopped giving me the welcome screen. I'm getting a bit frustrated here...!

Hoping someone can help me! Thank you!
