Logon screen "...new emails" wont leave

Hi. I have only 1 user on my computer, and in the logon screen, wherer I
click to sign in to that user, the message says "You have 4 unread messages"
or whatever. So far, I have used my computer to sign in to 2 differnet emil
accounts. The one email account (not the one with 4 unread messages) is the
one that I "associated" with my user account. The other was an email that my
friend signed into using hotmail. I'm assuming thats the one with "4 unread
messages". If that one is not associated with my account, how come the logon
screen is giving me info on it?
