Logitech QuickCam Pro 3000

Not sure if this is the correct place....

Anyways, I have a clean install of WinXP Home SP2 (with all updates), as
well as latest BIOS for my Dell. Installed camera per Logitech's
instructions. Seemed to install correctly, but after several reboots,
camera is not recognized as "Logitech Quickcam Pro 3000". This started
happening after resuming from "Sleep" mode on one occasion. Instead, shows
up in Device Manager as "USB Composite Device" (I suppose because it has a
built-in mic). XP tries to install it but fails, and continues to attempt
reinstall after each reboot, only to fail again. After following most of
the advice on Logitech's site, I still can't get this camera to work. Tried
another camera (cheapy version with no built-in mic), and windows
automatically found it and installed it (with no external software drivers,
just XPs). This one works fine (on the same USB port). I checked on the MS
site and found that drivers are available for this specific camera as part
of XP. Yet XP doesn't recognize it anymore. I also tried multiple
uninstalls from the Device Manager and reinstalls. Tried with Logitech's
drivers; also tried without their drivers and tried to use just XPs. Other
devices work fine on the USB. Maybe it's a hardware problem with the
camera? Dunno. I'm hoping someone out there has experience with this
situation and can provide advice. I'm stumped. Thanks.

Bob,

I can't seem to locate a support number or email address on their site.

I saw that one...I was hoping for a toll-free number or at least an email
address (even a half-way decent newsgroups would have been great - their
version is not well maintained and appears to be unmonitored).

Thanks for your suggestions. For now, I'll continue running my cheapy
camera until I decide to either buy the QuickCam Pro 4000 or go with another
company.
