Logitech quickcam express

I recently replaced my Win/ME PC with a new one running Win/XPHome. The old
pc had a logitech quickcam express camera attached to it via a usb 1 port
and worked just fine. However, when I tried to install the camera on my new
pc (usb 2) it doesn't get recognised. Downloaded the latest XP drivers and
ran the install, however when I plug in the camera XP gives me an unknown
device error. The logitech website wasn't much help, but it did point out
that the quickcam express is one of those supported by native XP drivers so
I uninstalled all the logitech stuff, but still get the same error. The
camera continues to work fine on my old pc. Any ideas?

Hi almac
I am not sure what you want to do with the Web Cam but what I do is plug the
cam in and it automaticly appears in the "my computer" area under "scanners
and cameras". If you click on it you can have a live view from your web cam
and take pictures. If you would like to take a movie, use Windows Movie
Maker and click on "Capture From Video Device". Select whatever audio and
video settings you desire and follow the on screen directions. Hope that
works.

Patti,
While this looked promising, applying both fixes doesn't seem to have cured
the problem.

Last Xmas I was sent a Logitech cam by my epal in America. After
installing software and connecting it to my WinXP home pc with SP1, it
didnt' work. Her husband was on hand and sent me to a site to download
something. Of course I have lost that site name but the download is called
xp_sp1patch_enu.exe

I have no idea what this is or why I needed it but it was the only thing
that got the camera working.

Cheers
