Lost all sound devices

Acer Aspire 9500, Windows XP SP1, ZoneAlarm Pro, AVG 7.5 Professional,
CounterSpy V2, Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 (with microphone), Pioneer
DVD-RW
DVR K-05RA, Logitech USB Headset. All was working correctly prior to the
Microsoft Update on 14 Nov 2007.

During the recent Microsoft Security Update (KB943460) of my computer which
included a voluntary upgrade for my Logitech USB Camera (Pro 4000), during
the process I experienced an occurrence of the BSOD. I rebooted the
computer and returned to the Microsoft Update page, none of the updates had
been installed. I again attempted to update and this time all appeared to
go well. However, a couple of days later I noted that I had no Sound
Devices.

Going to the "Sounds and Audio Devices (in the Control Panel), it showed
that I had no Audio or Voice Devices. The Device Manager shows that here
is
a problem with the Imaging Device "Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000" and all
Sound, Game and Video Controllers (yellow disk with black exclamation mark)

Un-installing & Re-installing (with "Add Hardware Wizard") the Logitech
Quickcam and Logitech Headset software has resolved these two items.

How can I re-install Audio Codecs, AverMedia Hybrid H/W MPEG Card, Legacy
Audio Driver, Legacy Video Capture Devices, Media Control Devices, Realtek
High Definition Audio and Video Codecs?

Hi Mark,
System Restore was the first action I took, I restored to a month previous
to the problem but no change.
