Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 problem.

Hi,

I'm running Windows-XP Pro (SP2) on a Pentium-/ 3.20GHz
1.00GB of RAM, and I can't install a Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 that I
just purchased.

Following the Microsoft camera instructions I installed first the
driver and software, then when I plug the camera (USB) Windows
recognizse it but it display a message saying "a problem occurs when
installing the hardware". I check looking at the Device Manager and
there is a yellow exclamation mark on the Imaging Devices Microsoft
Lifecam icon.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the camera, running the
camera software update, trying different USB ports, checking that
all the USB ports are correctly set on the mother board BIOS, etc.

Funny thing is that I have installed a friend of mine Logitech webcam
with no problems, before buying this new Microsoft, and now I don't
know what to do.

I have removed all the "old" Logitech drivers and software before
trying
installing the LifeCam, and I have also cleaned the registry removing
all the Logitech keys and files.

I'll appreciate any help relating this matter.

Thanks in advance,
Edward

I am having the same problem - but the weird thing is that I can use the
camera fine in Skype so the drivers work there. I am probably going to
replce the wholething. AAARGH. Microsoft, I bought this brand so that I would
not have any compatibitility problems on my media center. This is annoying.
