Logitech Bluetoth Dongle MX5000 showing as Generic USB Hub

I have recently purchased a Logitech Desktop, that uses a Bluetooth
dongle to communicate. However when I insert my dongle it shows up in
Device Manager as a Generic USB Hub, so I cannot access any bluetooth
settings or connect any other Bluetooth Devices (such as my mobile).
Anyone else having this problem, or similar?

Thanks,

Jez

yes I did, did the whole exercise TO THE LETTER, but the instructions
are a bit vauge, they dont tell you when to unplug your old KB and
mouse, they dont tell you what to do if it goes wrong. this is becoming
a real pain in the neck! any other suggestions!?

thanks

Try this...with your old KB & mouse plugged in, uninstall the drivers for your new KB & mouse as well as any drivers you still have installed for your old KB & mouse. Do a complete shut down. While your computer is off, unplug your old KB & M and plug in the new one. Boot up your computer and windows should find automatically detect it. Run your drivers disk and follow the install procedure again. After its finished, if the computer doesn't prompt to reboot...reboot manually and your new KB & M should be working properly.

I have run the install a couple of times, removing all the drivers and
software competely, i even did a system restore to go back to a date
before the KB & Mouse were plugged in, still no joy. Anyone out there
having any joy with this?? :(

yes, the mouse and keyboard both work (on and off) but not 100%, still
have to re-connect them now and then. But the main problem is that
there is no bluetooth device installed to connect all my other devices!
PLEASE post here is you get anywhere, or email me! I will do the same!
thanks.

Same problem. My thing shows up as GENERIC HUB.
Says no bluetooth devices connected, so I can't use any of my other bluetooth devices with it.

Installed/Reinstalled. Removed like all traces of BT.

Read the readme.txt and says to installed Setpoint 2.22 first.
Did that, then I installed the WIDCOMM 32 setup file manually installing the BT Drivers and etc.
Then updating the Setpoint to the newest version.

Still the POS says no BT connected.

Keyboard and Mouse work normally but I have the same problem and can't manually force the Generic Hub to accept the WIDCOMM BT drivers in device manager.

Sent an email to Logitech Cust Support. Hopefully they can answer this or I'm return this POS in a few days.

There's no documentation or customer support for this type of problem on logitech knowledgebase. I tried a search and other ppl are having the same problems.
