I tried as you suggested, but to no avail.

I'm still getting the change from my username "myotis" to
the www.clark.com\myotis

Any other ideas?!

Have you checked with your hosting company.?? Seems I remember something
about this happening if your host has the server set as a "name server."
( not sure if that's the exact terminology )
