Hi Sue Roe,
The idea behind a secure system is that you cannot logon without the
password. You are expected to remember it. If you cannot logon, please see:
How to Log On to Windows XP If You Forget Your Password or Your Password
Expires

This may also help:

Once you are logged on to a system, you can setup an autologon, but you will
still need to know what your password is (you may need it at a later date
for something like the recovery console as well).
Start/run "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes).
Uncheck the box requiring a username and password, click apply/ok and follow
the prompts to set up a default logon.
