login page trouble Help!!!!!!

I used to be able to login into the xp/window, but now every thing works and it scands the disk, but where the xp/login used to appear no longer exist. I just get the xp/page with no login scrip or login icon and the keyboard does not work on this page. I tried re-installing xp/windows, but it freezes at the press f8/ request to be able to continue seting up. I also tried to restoring but it goes back to the xp/page with no login icon or window for me to login. Please, help!!!!

make sure your f-lock key is on in order to use the f-8 key in the system restore.

Thanks for the info, I tried it and still does not perform any thing it just freezes at the statge. I reboot and It still conducts a scandisk check and the xp/splash creen comes up, but the login icon/or scrip does not come up. If you have any more ideas please, let me know! Thank You once again.
