Login invalid afte workgroup changed

After changing the workgroup name and specified the
administrator as the user with rights to change the
workgroup, the system prompted for a restart to effect new
settings. Since then I cannot log into Windows XP Pro,
with either the administrator or user logins and password

Try logging in using safe mode using the owners account to reverse the changes you made.

When you attempt this again create a password recovery disk before you restart the system with the new password.

Windows XP by default deacctivates the log in account of the administrators.
You need to reactivate the accounts before you reboot. Or after you login in using safe mode.
Make yourself administrator and be sure accounts acctivated
