I changed something, but I'm not sure what (as I was doing a lot of things
that day), and now when I log into my laptop, the login screen looks like I'm
trying to login to a network, not what it used to look like (when I used to
just click on the little picture next to my name and the enter password box
came up).

Obviously not a huge problem, just a little bit annoying

I have Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2, if that makes any
difference

Can anyone help me with this?

Cheers

Seems that you have Turn Off the Welcome Screen option or have Turn On the
Offline Files option or installed "Client for Microsoft Netware Service".

1. Click Start - Control Panel
2. Open User Accounts
3. Click "Change the way users log on or off"
4. Here check if the Welcome Screen option is unchecked. Make it checked and
if you have turned on Offline Files then a message will display that you
need to turn off Offline Files option if you want the Welcome Screen or
Client for Microsoft Netware service has been enabled.
5. If that Client service is creating a problem then right-click on My
Network Places and choose Properties. Right-click on Local Area Connection
and choose Properties and uninstall that service from the list carefully.

Hope this help, let us know!
