logging into winmail - how stop

I use windows mail only for posting to newsgroups (use outlook for regular
email). Before vista, I would never be prompted to login. Cancelling the
login screen works and works as usual.

How do I get windows mail to stop asking me to login. I don't have the
correct login information because I don't want it to download email from my
ISP provider, so the information is bogus as it was in outlook express (but
it wasn't a problem).

I'd appreciate a setting suggestion that might fix this nuisance.
Thank you.

Go to Tools/Options/General Tab. Remove the check mark from the "Send and
receive messages at start up" option.

That worked. Thank you so much.

Could I ask one other question - related. I'm pretty sure this is a setting
as well, but I just can't find it. There's one that allows you to go
directly to the "inbox" upon opening but I "don't" want that to happen. Was
that removed as a setting?

Thanks again.

Why don't you just look at settings and options for Windows Mail?
Do you ever bother?

Yeah, it looks like it was removed.

You're welcome.

On your second question, it looks like Steve is right, that option for the Inbox was removed.

I wondered as much. I didn't think it would be removed, so I wasted a ton
of time trying to find it.
Thanks for the response ... at least I know to stop looking for it.
