In setting up Windows XP to logon automatically, bypassing
the Welcome Screen, I entered the wrong password for my
account. Now I am locked out of the computer. I tried
booting using Last Known Good Configuration, but I still
couldn't get access to my desktop. Can anyone help, please?

them passwords will get ya' everytime.....somewill be along to assist you in
breaking into this pc of "yours"...yeh, right....this newsgroup thrives on
assisting people in breaking into others' PC's by getting arounf the
password....just wait....

Do a safe boot. You can then access the user accounts and change your
password
Cheers Doug

I'll give it a try. Thanks so much.

Doug forgot to mention that to log onto XP in Safe Mode, you'll need
to know your "password." Oh, and you'll still be locked out on that
account.

You'll need to access and administrator level account to unlock the
account in question. XP has a built in account called "Administrator"
for just this sort of emergency. It too has a P/W - what that
password is you should know, as your provided it during Setup.
