Location of email folders and address book in Windows Mail?

My wife's motherboard just crapped out and I need to retrieve her emails and
address book from Windows Mail. This urgent as she uses the computer for her
business and it has literally several thousand email addresses, email groups,
and messages. The OS is Vista Home Premium. Where within the file structure
on her hard drive would I find those folders/files? Which folders/files am I
specifically looking for?

Many thanks in advance,

Typically:
C:\Users\username\Contacts
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail

Ok, fair enough. How would I import these files into Windows Mail installed
on a fresh hard drive. Would I use Windows Mail and search for the files or
would just swap the files onto the new hard drive?

Thanks,

Stingray1965, use the "Importing from Windows Mail to Windows Mail"
section in the URL cited below. As for the contacts, I think you can just
copy the old folder into the new C:\Users\username\Contacts folder.
Vista may have a problem with ownership of the files, but we can cross
that bridge later.

You really shouldn't use a program like Windows Mail for business, IMHO.
Pay for some program that is intended for that, like Outlook.

Using Outlook is a nightmare! Just try synchronizing your Contacts list on
two computers, both using Outlook. I managed to do it once, but only after a
lot of help from Tech Support. It is a totally unintuitive and complicated
process. I gave up on Outlook, simply becasue I couldn't keep my two Contact
Lists in sync.

By comparison, Outlook Express Address Book offers a simple and intuitive
way to synchronize/ You simply Export from one and Import the file into the
other computer.

Now, Windows Mail in Vista is a really crappy "replacement" for Outlook
Express. OE was the one outstanding product Microsoft had, and they managed
to ruin it with Windows Mail. What a shame!

Simple? That requires repeated manual intervention.
Windows Live Mail can keep contacts synced totally automatically.
