Locally Stored Profile

Rory

HI
This is a home based computer with four named users each
with their own logon and password. However I am now
unable to access my own profile but cannot recall any
single event to have caused this problem. After inputting
User Name & Password the System raises a MESSAGE (see
below) and logs me on using a default profile. Access
rights are still maintained in that I can still see my own
documents.

Trouble Shooting Steps:I have opened the other users'
desktops and all seems OK with these.

"MESSAGE: Windows cannot load the locally stored profile.
Possible causes of this error include insufficient
security rights or a corrupt local profile. If this
problem persists contact your network administrator".

"DETAIL: An I/O operation initiated by the registry failed
unrecoverably. The registry could not read in, or write
out, or flush, one of the files that contain the system's
image of the registry".

Apreciate your thoughts or comments. Many thanks & Happy
New Year.

There's not much you can do, other than create a new account, and then salvage any documents/files from the old profile.

See Help and Support and search for "take ownership"
