local area connection status receiving too much activity

Whenever I check the local connection status, I notice
that I am receiving a lot more packets than i am
sending. As of this moment I am sending 446,262 and I am
receiving 2,132,210. I did have a welchia worm problem
but that was fixed. I know that was one of the symptoms.
I ran this stinger program to detect any worms from
network associates and my windows XP pro is completely
updated with all of the critical updates. I also have up
norton antivirus with up to date virus definitions. Is
there something wrong? Is there a way I can see what my
pc is actually receiving? This issue also happens when
the pc is idle. I believe I checked all of the normal
stuff.

same problem here, when watching network activity there are packets being sent and received with nothing running, no browser or email running and the only protocol running is TCP/IP, no MS clent etc.. As far as I'm concerned there should be zero activity.
Does anybody know why there is still traffic?
Brand new install of XP and Norton Systemworks 2003.
Could it be the 'automatic' updates?
It is very un-nerving to see traffic when there should be none.

Thanks
