I have Win Xp pro retail version. It was installed on a A7V133 mobo with
athalon xp 1800+ cpu. Last night the mobo gave up on me and I have no video.
I would like to buy a bare bones PC and install xp on it, but I have a
concern. Since it is registered on the defunct pc, I am sure to run into an
issue when I re-register it. I do not know the PID since I cannot get to it
on the old pc.

Has anyone run into similar issue and what did u guys do in that situation.

You are not "sure to run into an issue" - in fact, as long as the install
happened long enough ago - you will not even notice between now and the
first time you installed the OS you have after you purchased it. Retail is
great that way and why it costs a bit more than OEM.

Of course - as long as you know the Product Key - which on the retail
edition is on the CD case. Product ID is not created until you install the
OS onto a computer and is calculated using your hardware.

Short: You'll be fine. Enjoy.
