Linksys Wusb11 and WAPC11 and windows XP

Hi there

I recently purchased a new laptop running XP Home. I have a home netowrk consisting of a linksys BEFSR11 router with a WAPC11 wireless access point. I have a linksys WUSB11 wireless USB network card. I know that the network works as I am currently using my windows 98 laptop with the same wireless card to type this message.

When I plug in the network card to my XP machine it properly detected and installed the wireless USB card. I was also able to see the Access point and establish a connection after entering my WEP key. However I am unable to get an IP address from the DHCP server. When I open the connection properties and click on the support tab I see a message invalid IP address. I can also see that bytes received =

Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the hardware and the protocols with no effect. I even tried assigning a static IP and setting the gateway and dns and such and it still does not work. I cannot even ping the gateway

Any Ideas
Regard

Have you checked the Router settings via the LAN site its running at
192.168.0.1 (LinkSys Default). There are many options you can edit including
DCHP and Advanced Wireless settings. You should take a look and see if
eveything looks alright.
