Linksys BEFW11S4 and WPA

John Smith

I am having problems trying to configure the Linksys BEFW11S4 (v4)
router to use WPA Pre-Shared Key. I am connecting with a Dell 600m,
with Intel's Centrino and the network card is not able to connect to
the routher when WPA is configured. I've also tried WEP, but I am also
having issues with it.

Has anyone successfully configured one of these routers to use either
WPA or WEP on Windows XP SP1?

Thank you!

Hi, John -

There might be a solution, and I'm sure someone will
chime in if there is, but my solution was to return the
Linksys and purchase a WAP from another manufacturer.

I didn't play with it for more than two or three hours,
though - and you're right, it was extremely frustrating.
Linksys' technical support site wasn't a whole lot of
help. The local electronics store was just too close and
the replacement router I bought hooked right up and has
worked flawlessly ever since.

Hope this helps -
