Problem using WPA Security for XP Tablet

I have a NetGear router set up with a WPA security and am attempting to
connect a Toshiba tablet PC to it. It sees the network but always tries to
connect using a WEP key. Is there a way for it to recognize WPA security?
It won't even let me enter the wireless password at this point because the
password doesn't follow the 5 or 10 character rules of WEP.

The wireless network utility program on your tablet has to support
WPA. Are you using the native Windows XP utility, or one from
Toshiba?

If your computer has Windows XP Service Pack 2, the native utility
should work with WPA. If your computer has Windows XP Service Pack 1,
you can either install Service Pack 2 or download and install the
Wireless update rollup package from this site:

Also, be sure that you are using WPA and not WPA2. Windows xp cannot natively
connect to WPA2 without apply a hotfix.
