lil question about a restore dvd

ok my mom got mad at me the other night and restored the computer b/c the
kids got on it and probably crashed it but anyways is there anyway after the
restore dvd has been used that i can undo it? or be able to get my old files
at all? thanks for any help

If it was a destructive restore - unlikely. As a destructive restore would
have probably (at the very least) formatted the system - which at that point
may have been recoverable.. But then it proceded to install Windows XP and
all of the other stuff that this restore DVD might contain - making the
chances thas it would screw up parts of every file previously stored on the
computer pretty high.

You could just restore from the periodic backups made of your data to
whatever external media you chose.
 
yeah but i never got the chance to back it up so its preaty much lost then
right?
