System Restore!!

MsCrystal

Last night i uninstalled a software from my computer, when it was deleted i
noticed that a lot of my other files also got deleted. i have tried system
restore but it goes back to a too earlier date where i did not have these
files at the time. i do not usually use system restore so it is very
difficult to understand. i would like to set it back to yesterday but that
date is not set as a restore point. How can i restore my PC back to a day
that is not set as a restore point??

Simple answer, you can't. What was the software that was uninstalled? What
types of files are missing?

You "uninstalled" and when it was "deleted" - so , did you uninstall
or delete ? When you uninstall , it "shouldn't" delete other files .

Exactly how did you do this?

What was the name of the program?

when it was deleted i
noticed that a lot of my other files also got deleted.

Exactly what other files?

i have tried system
restore but it goes back to a too earlier date where i did not have these

If they were data files, System restore wouldn't do anything for them
anyway. It only restore system files, as the name indicates.

i do not usually use system restore so it is very
difficult to understand.

?? I think System Restore is extremely simple and easy to understand.
What don't you understand about it?

i would like to set it back to yesterday but that
date is not set as a restore point. How can i restore my PC back to a day

You can't. Why would you even suspect that you could?

hello mscrystal,

you didn't really provide
specifics regarding your
issue, but they may not
be necessary anyways.

there are some programs
that can hold any files
created with it as hostage.

so if this is the case, then
when you uninstalled it
instead of buying it, it took
the files you made with it.

however, there is something
you can try with a freeware
called recuva.

if those files you mentioned
were basically deleted, then
you may have a chance to
restore them.

but there is a caveat to the
above.

if you are successful in restoring
those files then keep in mind
that they may need their
parent program to open.

let us know...
