My computers lighting seemed to be dark when it was started today, what
causes that and what can I do to fix it?

"Computers lighting"? Please clarify exactly what you mean by that. Are you
trying to say that the monitor is dim? If so, that's a hardware issue, and
not a Windows one.

Perhaps it's one of those silly lighted cases with a viewing
window! In any case, that's a pretty good example of hardware.

I actually have one those silly lighted cases myself, but not because it was
what I wanted. When I had this computer built, it was the large case my
dealer had with the big power supply that I wanted and with a decent price.

It's a big tower with a see-through panel and the left and a cool blue glow
all over. See http://www.apevia.com/category.php?cid=36 I hate it and I'm
embarrased when anyone sees it. It makes me feel like an aged teenager.

I see what you mean, Ken. ;-} Can't you disconnect the wiring to the
lights to make it a bit less conspicuously garish? (I suppose using a
can of spray paint would be a bit extreme.)

Spray paint! What a great idea! I never thought of that. <vbg>
