Lego chess cd won't play on laptop

I have installed lego chess on our desktop and it works
well, but after installing it on a laptop with more than
enough resources it won't work. It installs, but does
not put an icon on the desktop. Then when I try to open
the game to play it, it keeps telling me to insert the
cd, even though it is in there. The files are all there
to work, it seems and lego is on my program list, but it
won't read the cd. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thank
