Hey guys

I'm having a bit of a hassle with my laptop at the moment. Probably one
out of 3 times it won't hibernate... it just sits at the desktop.

I noticed this the one day, where after it had been in it's carry bag
the whole night, I opened it up to see that it was still on! Thankfully
it didn't end up frying itself, as it still seems to work fine (apart
from the hibernate story).

Does anyone know what could cause this?

Hibernate doesn't work all the time with all laptops. Many vendors even ship
the machines with buggy ACPI firmware. There's not much you can do but stop
using hibernate.

Macs are the only machines that I've seen that have flawless hibernation --
but that's not an option for everyone.

Damn... thanks for the heads up.
