Hibernation Problem on Laptop

Hi guys. My new Dell Inspirion 6400 has an annoying hibernation problem. When
I go to hibernate, it simply says "Preparing to Hibernate" on the blue
screen, and then just sits there. I've left it for a good 30min before and
still nothing. I've installed countless hotfixes for similar problems on XP,
but nothing has done the trick. Any ideas?

It's a new computer, under warranty? What does Dell support say? What
non-stock software have you installed, and what is running?

Use msconfig to turn OFF various processes one by one and recheck
hiberation. When the system hibernates properly, you've found the problem
and can look for a solution.
