My Laptop doesn't recognise when the ac adaptor is attached. I can't run off ac power and my battery won't charge. I have had checked both battery and power cord and they are fine.

My laptop is a ei systems 4420 (over 2 years old)
3.06ghz
512mb ram

Does anyone know what the issue could be?

Appreciate any replys

yes. My power adaptor works fine on my friends laptop.

I've even tried putting a new battery into my laptop and even that won't take a charge.

Unfortunately it's not returnable.. too old I think.
Doesn't look good, does it?!

Would it be a big problem to take out the hard drive and either use that or copy from that with/to another computer??

Might be an idea to reflow the solder on the powe connecter on the inside of the laptop. Mite just be a cracked joint u see. Of course its a guess.

If you aint soldered before tho I suggest you get someone else to do it for u ;)
