LAN workstation login extremely slowly

My computer is one of the workstations in a NT domain.
When I login as a domain user, it takes around 5 mins before I can see
the desktop, which drives me almost mad.
I figure out (probably) one of the reasons is the whole Profile for
this user is storage in the server, so each time login, the whole
Profile must be fetched from the server to my computer, which is more
than 50 MB. And when more applications are installed, the size will
get larger.
Is there anyway to relocate the profile to the local machine? Or what
else I can do to shorten the login time?
Thanks a lot!
Kyle

Right-click My Computer>>Properties>>User Profiles. Select the profile,
click Change Type... button, change from Roaming to Local, click OK.

If there is no delayed logout, check event log and talk to admin. Local copy
of roaming profile could be disabled by company policy but more probably,
your wksta is misconfigured.

There is delayed logout also, which lasts at least 4 mins.
What should I do to determine whether my workstation is misconfigured? Since
some computer in the same domain does not have that problem. What is the
detailed procedure to diagnose and fix it? Actually, I contact the
adminstrators but they do not know the reason. So I must solve it myself.
Thanks

Login at another similar console and compare the results. If there is a
difference - push your admins. The reasons may vary widely and you cannot
solve the problems unless you are an admin.
