Server: Windows 2000 advance server
Workstations: WIN 98SE, WIN ME, WIN 2000 PRO, WIN XP
This problem was created after installing SP4 and all
updates from Microsoft
PROBLEM:
All workstations can access the server without a problem
until a user logs into the server locally. After a user
login into the server locally the workstations cannot
resolve the name of the domain until the server is
rebooted.
WIN 98 SE & ME:
Users cannot access the domain server when logging into
the NT domain (No Domain Server found) when using domain
name, but if you ignore then login verification users has
access to shares (Mapped Drives) on the network.
User can login into the NT domain and use shares if you
login in using the IP Address of the server.
WINDOWS 2000 and XP:
User can login to the domain server but cannot access the
shares (Mapped Drives)
When users login locally the have access to shares (Mapped
Drives)
I am sure that this problem was created by fixes to some
security holes from Microsoft, but I am unsure where to
look to resolve the problem or a work around.
