LAN Connection Problem

D

Dennis Marks

My broadband internet connection is through the Ethernet port. It uses a
type of micro-cell system. Starting a few weeks ago I began to have this
problem. When starting from standby or hibernation the notification area
shows that the LAN is connected. When I start my mail program it can't
connect to any mail servers. When I start the browser it can't connect
to anything. A few times the problem went away when trying another
address, sometimes the problem does not occur at all. Usually I have to
restart the computer to connect. This problem only occurs when starting
in the morning. There is never a problem after I connect.

Any ideas of what the problem may be?

Can this be caused by ZoneAlarm blocking SVCHOST for browser internet
access?

Open Device Manager, open the properties on your ethernet card, click
the Power tab, and deselect "Allow the computer to turn off this device
to save power".
