keyboard stops responding initial installation windows XP Pro 64

when I get to the screen that says press enter to continue windows
installation, the keyboard goes dead.

Borrow a keyboard with a PS/2 attatchment plug. You could probably buy one
for 10 bucks, if the startup screens need it from now on. Both keyboards will
work at once.

correction: This did in fact help, After thinking about it, I tried a
Logitech ps/2 keyboard (the other was a Microsot) and now it works. Thank
you, Thank you, Thank you.
