XP Installation Problem

During installation, when the screen goes to "regional and language options",
my keyboard and mouse are dead and I can't indicate "continue". Both devices
work when I start up the pc. Can anyone help? Thanks!

What kind of install are you running? an upgrade in windows.. or a
complete reformat and fresh install outside of windows?

I'm doing a complete reformat of a 98 version w/ XP. One very important note
(evidently), I'm doing this on a Compaq Presario 4860 which has some very
unique tower properties. I found instructions to turn off the pc, unplug it,
hold down the start button for 5 seconds, then restart it. After that was
done, the install started over from the beginning and loaded successfully.
