kernel32.dll error

I am running WinXP and IE6. For the last 2 days I
encounter the following error which closes my IE whenever
I tried to link a download search to edonkey:

Error signature
AppName: iexplorer.exe
AppVer: 6.0.2800..1106
ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.1106
Offset: 00013887

Does anyone knows what is the problem and how to resolve
it? Thanks.

Hi,
Another program is interfering with IE- possibly an adware, spyware,
parasite program.

You should run CWShredder, Ad-aware and Spybot. Also note the security tips

Or...
A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable
(for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, security,
anti-virus, etc. Also... notorious for causing problems- Gator, Kazaa and
some others. You may have to reinstall, or not reinstall, a program.

There are other possibilities for KERNEL32 errors, including corrupted or
outdated video drivers

Start at Control Panel> Display> Settings> Advanced for information on your
video adapter/driver including (possibly) a link to the manufacturer's
website.
