Kernel Error when re-installing printer software bundle.

A user has been using his local USB Epson stylus 875epx
printer wihtout a problem, when yesterday his office was
moved and he can no longer print. I tried to re-install an
updated driver using update in the device manager and
still it doesnt work. If I install the printer's bundled
printer software package, using setup, installation is
stopped by a " kernel error" (in a certain memory
address). This happened when I ran setup over the current
installation and also after I uninstalled the Epson
software package. It's also wierd because the printer's
icon in the Add Printer wizard can't be remove
by "delete". I have to go to add/remove programs to remove
the printer utility programs which will also remove the
printer icon.

The o/s is w2k sp4 with all the current patches. Printer
will not print with printer properties "test print".

What do I do to to make the printer work?

If the problem was resulted from office movement. It is most like to be
related to hardware problem. You may check the following points:

1. Print Test Page on Windows Console Pane.
2. Print Test Page by right-click printer-->Properties-->Test Page.

If the test page prints well in printer itself but improperly from opearting
system. Please check USB port and data cable.

Print test page does not produce an output, no error
messages either. Same way when printing a Word document.
The USB cable was reconnected several times on both ends.

I suggest disconnecting the printer from the USB port, then doing a complete
cleanup of printer drivers (see
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm).

Then, reinstall the printer following the instructions that came with the
printer. Some USB printers are quite finicky - if you connect the printer
before installing the driver, it won't work.

It works now, after I deleted all printer(there were
three) and reinstalled the printers with the problem
printer first. Thanks to all of you.
