Keeping many windows open at once

I want to do a lot of cutting & pasting between applications. Is there
any way to keep all windows open at once?

Right click an open spot on your Taskbar at the bottom of the screen and select
Tile Windows Horizontally or Tile Windows Vertically depending on your
preference. You can also try Cascade Windows and see if that works better for
you.
