Keep Programs from being Installed?

Is there a way to configure XP that wont allow programs
to be installed. Like with a boot that requires
password? Can an install be set up the same way? I
would like to ensure that AIM/AOL does not get installed
on my computer.

They wouldn't get installed on their own - make sure that if anyone else is
using the computer, their user account has no administrative rights.
