jpg quick display

I have recently upgraded to xp from win98. I find it fairly user friendly,
but I cannot find an option to open a thumbnail view of files just by
passing the cursor over them like win98.
I can open the whole folder as thumbnails, but then I have to scroll to find
what I want.
In 98 I looked down the list and when I found a likely named file I could
open it at the bottom of the Explorer panel very quickly. Moving the cursor
over another file would close the first and open the next. Just a mouse
sweep - no click necessary.
Very simple for a quick small view to give a positive ID of an image.
Has this 98 thumbnail feature been carried over to xp? If so where can I
find it? If not, is there another solution (or should I post to
alt.comp.freeware)?

Bryan,

Open Folder options in Control Panel, and then enable "Single-click to open
an item (point to select). Now, as you hover over an image file in a folder,
the Common Tasks pane should display the thumbnail/preview.
