JPG files no longer available in Wallpaper options, only bmp files

I seem to be having an issue with setting my wallpaper, when I look at the
display properties, then desktop, Background, only bmp files show in the
list. I did goto the windows\web\wallpaper directory and there is jpg in
there, along with the bmp files. Not sure why they won't show in the
background list? Also, if I right click on an jpg file in windows explorer
and select open with, and select IE, then set the image to wallpaper, that
works, but when I reboot the pc, it no longer displays the jpg file. It
almost seems like jpg files are disabled some what....any suggestions would
be appreciated...

thanks
David

I could be wrong, but I don't think jpgs have ever appeared on that list.
The only way I have ever been able to get a jpg as a background is to
convert it to bmp or go to the browse button on the side and select a jpg.

There are plenty of 3rd party wallpaper managers around

This is a good free one that deals well with jpg files..

Not good is it to harp on the frayed string

The reason I decided to write that, was mainly because "David D." <David

Empty your Temporary and Temporary Internet Files.

Thanks, Bob I.
I remember that now. It has been years since I have even thought about
active desktop.
