I am setting a jpg file for my wallpaper. it will not display. when I log
off I get a very quick glimpse of the jpg picture. It is like the picture is
underneath the color I chose for my desktop background.

Can someone tell me what settings I need to be able to view different jpg
files I select to be my wallpaper?

any help would be appreciated

Is this XP you're using? Any chance you've got the Active Desktop feature
enabled? If so, you'll typically see your 'Windows' wallpaper just briefly
on login before the Active Desktop wallpaper (or object, etc...) is loaded.
Likewise, when you log off, the Active Desktop wallpaper will be unloaded,
revealing the Windows wallpaper for a second before the logoff is completed.

BOB, I did have the active desktop feature enabled. I have corrected the
problem. Thanks
