Does anyone know how to get direct connection to a newsgroup when you have Yahoo? What is a newsreader? (I need that, right?) Paula Thank you!

MS Outlook Express is a newsreader. You will need to know what the server
name of the Yahoo news server is.

Hi - if you have IE, you have OE (Outlook Express) which can read news. You
might want to consider using it or another newsreader such as Forte Agent
rather than the web interface to the newsgroups - it's a lot easier to do
nearly everything there, including searching, which is always a good idea to
do before you post, as well as mark messages to be watched, and filter based
on replies to your posts.

The Microsoft public news server is msnews.microsoft.com and you can
subscribe to as many groups as you like - no password required. For
connections to other news servers, you can contact your ISP and ask them for
their news server name....

Thank You..I will call comcast...I have the yahoo mail and my husband had OE on
this same computer. I made some mistake in his mailbox when I set up newsreader so now I have to stay in my mailbox. (Yahoo). Will see if they have forte agent. Thank you very much..Paula in the provinces.

Good luck - note that Forte Agent isn't made by Microsoft. Google is your
friend! :-)
